What is Housing Selection? To apply for campus housing, new students need to complete the housing application, pay the $500.00 deposit, and select where they would like to live. A housing assignment is the actual building and room the student will live in. Students at Academy of Art University have the unique privilege to pick exactly where they’ll be living from what is available via the online Housing Selection system.
Housing Selection for the Fall 2018-Spring 2019 Academic Year closed on July 1st. All housing assignments after this date will be determined by the housing office.
Continuing students currently living in campus housing may select their housing assignment for the next school year by participating in the Renewal/General Room Selection process every April. Students will have the opportunity to remain in their current housing assignment or select a new space on campus.
What you need to complete housing selection: In order to participate in Housing selection, students must:
- Be enrolled full time for the Fall 2018 semester (12 units undergrad/ 9 units grad)
- Have no outstanding charges on your student account
- Have no outstanding conduct sanctions or holds
Important Note Regarding Students on Academic Probation: Students who are on academic probation and are unable to register for classes will be redirected to a separate page where they can note their interest in campus housing for the next school year. Students who cannot register for classes until a later date MUST contact the Department of Housing to ensure that they receive a housing assignment for the next school year. Students will be able to complete a housing application specifically created for students on prbation which will alert the Department of Housing of your intentions to live on campus once you are able to register for classes.
How do I complete my housing selection?
The student housing portal is accessible on all browsers through your computer, tablet, or smartphone. You can access the portal for housing selection during your designated access time which will be emailed to you prior to housing selection in early April.
To begin the Housing Selection process, log into the Student portal and select "Academic Year Application."
